3 Disadvantages of Buying an Entry-level Smartphone

As we know, the smartphone market is divided into three segments. The top is the segment for the flagship smartphone market. Beneath it is the middle-class smartphone market and the lowest is the entry-level or lower-class smartphone market.
The flagship smartphone market will usually be controlled by devices that are sold at high prices, which is at least priced at IDR 7 million. It's fairly natural because usually smartphones in the flagship class will be filled with advanced features and technology.
While smartphones in the mid-range aka middle class will be sold at relatively affordable prices, they cannot be called cheap too. Then the last segment, namely entry-level will be crowded with smartphones priced at low prices.
Having a friendly price is the main reason why smartphones in the entry-level segment can sell like boiled peanuts at the night market. Some people are reluctant to spend more money to buy a smartphone, for the reason of "saving".

It's natural that some people think so and can't be blamed too. However, buying an inexpensive entry-level smartphone actually also carries losses. Well! 3 this will show the location of the loss. Read until it's finished!

Entry-level smartphones lack technology

Today smartphone technology is racing so fast. You could say, the technology in the smartphone industry is moving so fast compared to other gadget industries. So fast, almost every year we are always presented with new smartphones that come with new features and technology.
It's just that, the latest features and technology are usually found in flagship and mid-range smartphones. While smartphones that enter the entry-level class or lower class will usually come with mediocre features.
Even so, we must recognize that entry-level smartphones are indeed developed with cheap production costs. And usually, entry-level smartphones also come with standard features to meet the needs of everyday users, such as social media, browsing, and chat.
We also cannot expect much with the hardware components and modules that are embedded into entry-level smartphones. Mostly, smartphones like this are also equipped with hardware modules whose performance is far less than the flagship and mid-range smartphones.

Design and material used are less attractive

Today most high-end smartphones come with eye-catching designs. Not only that, a number of manufacturers also began to dare to package their homemade smartphones with sleek colors. This also began to spread to the middle class.
But don't expect much with an unsightly design the eye will visit entry-level smartphones. As we know, not a few entry-level smartphones are packed with "cheap" materials, such as polycarbonate plastic.
Plastic is actually a material that is not easily scratched or broken. But when in contact with hands, the first impression we will feel is light and frail. Not only that, the appearance of plastic material looks mediocre, there is no special impression.
Inversely proportional to flagship or middle class smartphones, the devices in this class come with more solid materials, such as metal or other metals. Not only that, the smartphone can also be enhanced with a super strong glass coating.

The smartphone change cycle is faster

Buy an entry-level smartphone because you want to save money? It's not like that! As mentioned above, entry-level smartphones are only equipped with lower-class technology and hardware. Well! Related to this, of course the installed hardware is not as fast as high-end hardware.
What does it mean? Installed hardware cannot last a long time. In addition, every existing application also continues to experience updates. Therefore, newer hardware support is needed.
Yes! From here we can know that the hardware cycle in the entry-level smartphone has a very short life. Unlike the flagship smartphone or middle class which usually has hardware support for a longer time.
Even sadly, there will come a time when entry-level smartphones do not get an operating system update because the hardware does not meet the standard requirements. Thus, inevitably we are forced to "upgrade" alias buy a new smartphone in order to enjoy the new features as well.
